Why are there so many discrepancies between the CFP rankings and AP Poll?

It seems like there's quite a bit of significant disagreement between the polls at the top, with significant meaning >2 spot difference. Here were some I noticed........

Weaker in CFP:
  • Cincy 2 in the AP, but 5 in CFP
  • Oklahoma 4 in AP, but 8 in CFP
  • ND 7 in AP, but 9 in CFP
Stronger in CFP:
  • Ohio State 4 in CFP, but 6 in AP
  • Oregon 3 in CFP, but 5 in AP
  • Michigan 6 in CFP, but 9 in AP

Also I find it interesting that Michigan is ahead of Michigan State, Oklahoma, and Notre Dame in the CFP, but behind them all in the AP..........

What's up with all the differences between the two polls? Seems like they should strongly mirror each others. That's a lot of disagreement in the top 10 for this time of the season.....

I think there are too many polls. Only one that counts is a teams record and when the final game is played the winner is the national champ. Even if it has one loss they would have beaten the #1 team in whatever poll so then whatever team beats the #1 ranked ream in whatever poll is the national champ even if they are ranked #5 in whatever poll and lost to a team who was ranked #2 and lost to them in regular season….

Because the committee needs to make sure that their blue bloods are in. Plain and simple.
I think the CFP has been around for 7 years now.
That makes 28 teams

how many times have bama, Ohio state, and Oklahoma been part of that 28? They make the cut b/c they are blue blood programs.

watch Cincy run the table and still get snubbed
